Director Of Warehouse Operations

DIRECTOR - WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

A leading manufacturer of consumer electronics, selling products through a network of distributors and national retailers in North America, Europe, and Asia, with headquarters in southern California near Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced Director of Warehouse Operations. Salary commensurate with experience.

Position Overview:

The Warehouse Manager reports to a member of senior management and manages the day-to-day activities of all shipping and receiving of product and other warehouse related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of customer orders.
• Troubleshoot all receiving / shipping complaints to resolve the issue and prevent reoccurrence.
• Oversee all activities related to the control, receipt, storage, retrieval, and shipment of inventory.
• Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of all warehouse machinery and equipment.
• Ensure the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company standards. Conduct and record regular safety meetings and training.
• Manage all warehouse staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives.
• Oversee the cycle count program and make recommendations for improving inventory accuracy.
• Negotiate annual rates with common carriers.
• Process freight claims for losses, damages, shortages, etc. with carriers and customers.
• Ensure routing and shipping instructions are processed in a timely manner in compliance with customers' shipping guidelines.

Basic Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum 5 years in a warehouse/distribution supervisory/management role.
• Experience with a manufacturer and or distributor of consumer products to national retailers.
• Knowledge of EDI, including ASNs.
• Familiarity with National Retailer routing requirements.
• Import and export experience.
• General PC and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Associate, BS/BA degree in business or equivalent experience/education in warehouse management.
• Excellent communication skills, bilingual Spanish/English a plus
