PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Supply Chain Manager is a member of the Company’s senior management team and is responsible for key value-creation activities. The candidate will have an opportunity to contribute significantly to the company's future success by providing outstanding managerial and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player and add value by contributing positively to the senior management group.

 

GENERAL KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Supply Chain will lead, plan, and coordinate all strategic aspects of the Supply Chain Function. The Director of Supply Chain is pivotal to mitigating our supply chain risk and optimizing our cost profile. The Director of Supply Chain will work across the organization to ensure alignment, provide visibility to our supply chain delivery, and create the right relationship internally and with our external partners. The role is responsible for establishing our supply chain management Standard Operating Practice (SOP).

 

The Director of Supply Chain should utilize best practice methods to provide expert supply chain delivery and global logistics and has an extensive network. The Director should ensure we have the full capability (people, process & tools) necessary to deliver on our ambitious growth plans. The role is responsible for creating a best-in-class function. The right candidate will lead the function to be a source of competitive advantage for the company.

 

This role provides leadership and direction to the supply chain function and is an important external-facing representative of the firm to our customers and suppliers. The role is fully accountable for the budget, performance, and results of the supply chain function. The Sr. Director is responsible for shaping and executing the functional strategy to achieve key business objectives of the Company.

Ensure conformance with our standard operating practices, business controls, and regulatory standards.

 

Provide QHSE leadership to ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory policies.

 

  • EXPERTISE
  • Requires extensive discipline, business, industry, and leadership expertise.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices, negotiations, contracts, safety, and quality standards.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts and import/export agreements.
  • Understanding broad principles of accounting and finance as it relates to supply chain.
  • Has explored e-solution platforms to help us consider/ evaluate how we move forward to be more efficient in our supply chain execution.
  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds (domestic and internal) to identify problems and find solutions.

  • SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF THE JOB:
  • Develop robust supplier benchmarks.
  • Work with Commercial, Engineering, Plant Management, QHSE, Program Management, and our suppliers to deliver a robust and reliable product.
  • Accountable for establishing our relationship management framework with external suppliers.
  • Translate commercial terms to clear, well-defined scope to support delivery certainty.
  • Oversee the strategic aspects of supply chain management to ensure the delivery of sourced materials and products.
  • Work with internal functions to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Support but not manage the warehouse or tool shed to optimize our inventory and shipping costs
  • Willingness to explore if blockchain and other supply chain initiatives fit our needs.
  • Work with field services to support remote support and maintenance.
  • Comfortable making presentations to investors, business partners, and company executives.

Experience:

  • +20-years of supply chain work experience
  • Degreed professional
  • A reputation of being “best in class” both technically and managerially
  • Demonstrable track record of value creation
  • Well-established network, both domestic and international
  • Big company and small company experience, a plus
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
