Description
The Director Research and Development will play a leadership role in the Technology Department. This role will ensure R&D activities drive to achieve strategic objectives, improve market position and optimize profitability. This role will partner with all levels of the organization to develop, implement, and execute new technology strategy aligned with MonoSol's vision for the future. .
Responsibilities
- Set and communicate the technology development strategy that aligns with MonoSol's mission, vision, and values, together with the broad actions needed to implement it.
- Inspire teams to commit to the strategy and to achieve the goals
- Hold overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the strategic plan for research programs of MonoSol.
- Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs. Develop plan to turn capabilities into competencies.
- Identify and manage stakeholders up to Senior Leadership Team and develop stakeholder engagement plans.
Qualifications
- 20+ years' experience in specialty/materials industry with 5+ years leading technology research team.
- Experience in specialty chemical or materials spaces is a must.
- Led an innovation organization - from technology to market
- Ph.D in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or closely related technical field preferred
- Developed a strong research organization with robust Processes and top talent
- Formulated and operationalized a strategy with clear focus and direction.
- Demonstrated success in driving technology to customer solutions,
- A strong leader who excels in mentorship and coaching as well as developing strong teams
- Outstanding communication skills, ability to engage with stakeholders
