Position Summary

Leads the entire Professional Relations strategy for Straumann North America (US and Canada).  Plans, directs, and coordinates university and governmental agency, teaching hospitals. Collaborates with Clinical Marketing to identify and develop and Key Opinion Leaders. Performs the following duties personally or in conjunction with the Straumann selling organization. Cross functionally collaborates with product marketing, education and sales teams.

 

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develops a national strategy in growing our market penetration in university and government accounts.
  • Coaches and develops a team of IAM’s to develop their skill sets needed to grow their specific markets.
  • Establishes new strategic partnerships with universities and government agencies.
  • Educates their direct team on our Digital Workflow and implements it into university accounts.
  • Builds relationships with universities, and demonstrates the benefits of Straumann’s key products to university faculty and Federal and State Governmental leaders.
  • Oversees the execution of a Marketing Strategy for university, teaching hospital, and Government accounts.
  • Provides key medical information to teaching hospital and university staff and Government agencies, as well as to Straumann’s Sales Force.
  • Responsible for tracking graduating residents / fellows into private practice and coordinating an effective transition plan from the university Territory Manager to the private practice territory manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining long-term sales growth, in line with market expectations.
  • Conducts continuing education workshops and programs for graduate physicians and scientists.
  • Directs grant programs for corporate, foundation, and/or government funding.
  • Directs major gifts program for funding from individuals.
  • Collaborate with Sales on the institution sales process, and sales plan achievements, for Institutional Account Managers.
  • Work with the Clinical Marketing Director to identify and develop KOL future speakers nationwide.
  • 50%+ travel across North America (US & Canada) to include nights and weekends

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science or equivalent discipline. 
  • 10+ years of experience in the Dental Implant industry or Medical Device industry.
  • 5+ years of university level experience dealing with government contracts and agencies. 
  • 3+ years of experience developing research and grant opportunities on a national level. 
  • 3+ years of experience developing and executing Strategic Plans.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Business or Medical Discipline is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good budgetary and fiscal planning skills
