Job description

As the Director, Operations for the Jackson, Minnesota campus, this position oversees the full Jackson campus and directs the manufacturing operation.  This role also leads efforts to coordinate communication and teamwork between all functions on campus, encompassing approximately 750 employees.

 

Ultimately, this role is responsible for full utilization of all available resources to manufacture the highest quality components and goods while identifying and developing the talent required to support our farmers and our growth ambitions today and tomorrow.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Further develop and realize the Jackson site strategy as well as the output and cost targets in coordination with the VP of NA Manufacturing
  •  Meet product build plans and sales forecasts by developing production planning and scheduling systems, optimizing labor, equipment, and inventory resources, examining and resolving schedule and quality nonconformities and problems.
  • Create a zero-incident safety culture
  • Entrepreneurial and organizational management and further development of the site, especially the technical, logistical, and supply chain functions within the framework of the NA plant network
  • Operational control of the focal areas of production, quality, materials, and manufacturing engineering, as well as giving priority direction to IT, HR, and Finance partners on site.
  • Further professionalization and development of the processes and structures of the plant
  • Ensure smooth product ramp-ups and change management
  • Compilation, analysis, and action plans to achieve key business performance indicators for the management of the site
  • Analyze and optimize the organization, as well as processes and product costs, to increase productivity, delivery reliability and profitability
  • Investment planning, taking into account ongoing technical developments
  • Serve as management interface to the corresponding functions within AGCO GmbH and the global functions
  • Role model AGCO cultural beliefs, ensuring full rollout and adoption within the Jackson location
  • Drive site-based employee engagement improvement efforts
  • Build diverse talent pipeline through continuous, robust talent development and management

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or other related field of study.
 
  • 10 years of management experience as a plant manager or a large cost center within a large manufacturing site.  Ideal candidate will have experience in complex operations with diverse processes and low volume of output.
  • Distinct know-how in the field of production processes
  • Strong logistics and purchasing-related understanding,
  • Experience in JIT and Lean manufacturing
  • Expert knowledge in controlling and optimizing the complete SCM process
  • Experience in team building without direct reporting control
