A Director of Manufacturing job is available with our client in Carson City, NV. This will be a full-time direct hire opportunity. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient operation of a manufacturing facility which includes production, safety, security, production documentation, compliance with regulatory agencies, and management of personnel. You will also be responsible for partnering with all functions within the business to safely manufacture and deliver production on schedule to customers within quality standards and cost objectives. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s Degree in Manufacturing Engineer or a related discipline and 15 years of related experience with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership position in manufacturing.
Director of Manufacturing Job Duties:
* Participates in developing and executing the vision for manufacturing that includes perfect parts on time at a competitive cost.
* Responsible for creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of a manufacturing facility including manufacturing, assembly, and production.
* Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
* Responsible for product quality outcomes as well as on time delivery.
* Complete understanding of scheduling principles and Supply Chain processes. Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
* Understands true production capacity, allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
* Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment. Work relentlessly with the manufacturing team and supports the organization to eliminate waste from the processes.
* Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets and capital expenditures. Responsible for the budget of the assigned departments.
* Analyze workforce requirements, conduct performance appraisals, and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.
* Support as necessary research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.
* Work with Supply Chain Director and Purchasing Manager to develop and improve supplier relationships.
* Maintain and support a superior 6S program, including all timely communication.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor"s Degree in Manufacturing Engineer or a related discipline and 15 years of related experience with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership position in manufacturing.
* Knowledge or exposure to Industry 4.0 or Digital Transformation.
* Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
* Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
* Experience in a manufacturing company and in managing business relationships.
* Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 6-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvements.
* Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
* Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
* Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
* Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
* Ability to lead large projects and cross functional teams.
* Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
