Regent Santa Monica Beach-an IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) property-lands in Santa Monica late 2023 as the first destination in the Americas. The resort will set a new standard for modern upper luxury. 

Located steps from the famed Santa Monica Pier, the resort will celebrate the beauty of unexpected harmony through contrasts, delivering inspired stays through a blend of serenity and a touch of decadence. The resort will feature sumptuous rooms and suites, along with a stunning beachfront pool deck, a destination spa and a wellness center. Additionally, Regent Santa Monica Beach will welcome guests for unforgettable epicurean experiences, including a restaurant concept created in collaboration with an acclaimed celebrity chef as well as a high-end artisanal marketplace.

The Director of Learning & Development will be responsible for creating and implementing training and development programs for team members of an ultra-luxury hotel. The specialist will identify areas where team members need to improve their skills, knowledge, and behavior to ensure the highest level of service delivery. The incumbent will work closely with management to develop and deliver training programs that enhance team members' skills and knowledge and align with the organization's objectives. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources with a dotted line to the Hotel Manager.

 

A little bit about your day:

  • Develop and implement learning and development programs that meet the needs of the ultra-luxury hotel's team members.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas where team members need to improve their skills, knowledge, and behavior to deliver exceptional customer service compliant with Forbes 5-star standards.
  • Collaborate with department managers to determine training needs and develop tailored training programs for each department.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and other learning experiences that are engaging, interactive, and aligned with the hotel's values and standards.
  • Develop and deliver new employee orientation programs that ensure new hires are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including manuals, job aids, and e-learning courses.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by conducting post-training assessments and surveys.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and incorporate best practices into the hotel's learning and development programs.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop career development plans for team members.

 

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a learning and development role, preferably in the hospitality industry or ultra-luxury setting.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs for diverse employee groups.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Passion for continuous learning and development.

What you can expect from us: 

The annual pay range for this role is $100,000.00 to $115,000.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A team member's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
