SalaryPosition Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director, IT Operations with a strong focus on cloud technology to lead and optimize our IT operations within our national wealth management firm. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cloud-based technology infrastructure, including oversight of deskside support, endpoint device management and building of a NOC. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with senior leadership to align technology strategies with business objectives. Your portfolio coverage will include 30+ office locations, 1200+ employees and growing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Implement best practices for cloud resource management, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization.
- Security and Compliance:
- Enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with cloud security trends and proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of technology professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture within the technology operations team.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate, select, and manage cloud service providers and vendors to ensure the firm's technology needs are met effectively.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to optimize costs and service quality.
- Partner with MSPs as needed
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of disruptions.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the technology operations budget, optimizing costs while maintaining high service quality.
- Monitor cloud usage and expenses, making recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement monitoring tools and metrics to track the performance of cloud services and infrastructure.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Project Management:
- Oversee technology projects related to cloud migrations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in managing cloud-based technology operations, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
- Demonstrated experience in security and compliance management within a highly regulated environment.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management experience and familiarity with Agile methodologies is desirable.
