Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of ITS is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship for a group of approximately 8 FT ITS staff and supporting the Firm's short and long-term operational technology needs. The incumbent will need to work proactively to support various internal and external constituencies, while seeking to standardize related tech services throughout the Firm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the development, implementation, and oversight of all IT related processes and solutions ( hardware, software, communication network, policies, etc...) for the Firm
- Coordinates long-range planning of IT services for the Firm, staying current on trends in the industry and ensuring the Firm is current on necessary technologies
- Proactively seek input from internal constituents about their technology needs; be a guide in selecting and adopting technology based solutions; and ensure all solutions are in line with overall firm technology direction.
- Be the lead to both assess and implement client mandated technology requirements for the firm.
- Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
- Ensures that the IT department's Runbook and Emergency procedures are kept up to date.
- Ensures that the IT department is prepared for all emergency situations by overseeing annual testing and failover of the firm's Tier 1 applications and systems with predetermined SLAs being met.
- Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for the improvement of new and existing IT infrastructure
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
- Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information, while making recommendations to senior leadership to ensure the longevity and security of systems
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations
- Serves as a contributing/working member of the ITS group as a whole, the Data Protection Committee and the CFO's leadership team
- Manages the IT budget within set parameters and makes recommendations that have significant budgetary impact
- Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
- Oversees consultants and contractors as related to IT projects
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- BA/BS degree and/or at least 15 years of progressively responsible IT leadership (supervisory in nature), with the related technical experience required
- Law firm experience highly preferred
- Subject matter expertise with the following technologies:
- Windows 10, Office 2016 /Office 365, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, VMWare, Citrix, Storage appliances (EMC, HP and Pure), Cisco devices including routers, firewalls, and WIFI appliances
- Demonstrated strategic IT planning experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently but within a team environment.
- Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong relationships with management and peers

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level management position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent's experience, with a targeted hiring range of $150,000 to $175,000 annually. This position is slated for our Hartford, CT office as the preferred work location.
