Job DescriptionNBCUniversal’s Operations and Technology group is looking for a Director of NextGen Network Perimeter and Trust. The candidate will lead a highly technical team of network, firewall, and cloud engineers with ownership of NBC’s global security infrastructure. The successful candidate will have extensive experience deploying and maintaining critical, high-availability network security infrastructure with the technical knowledge to dig into the details.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead technical deep dives, “hold your own” with business leaders, influence high impacting and complex decisions.
- Serve as a role model for “how to execute”, lead major problem reviews, champion process improvement, and actively contribute to high-risk change review and implementation.
- Provide advanced technical analysis of cyber requirements, collaborate, and ensure the appropriate implementation is deployed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting large complex networks with extensive NextGen firewall deployment and support expertise.
- Solid understanding of the current perimeter security ecosystem and how “zero trust” concepts can be leveraged to support hybrid cloud and refactoring of the edge.
- Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Akamai, and Cloudflare solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong hands-on understanding of IPv4/6, routing protocols (OSPF, MP-BGP, MPLS), video standards and codecs including RTP, SRT, HLS, JPEG-XS, 2022-7, ST2110.
- Ability to review network designs, configurations, and real-time traffic patterns to assess network capacity, detect suboptimal network state, and identify potential points of failure.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
