This position will serve as the functional Director and primary point of contact for the forthcoming AI incubator and Innovation Center. This includes working with businesses and entrepreneurs to lend AI expertise, refer them to AI resources, and partner with external organizations to help them reach their goals. Through leadership by example, this position will also have teaching responsibilities of 6 course per academic year. Providing instruction, administer authentic assessments, and foster an active learning environment that is focused on student foundational competence, success, retention, and completion.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations and service delivery of the AI incubator and Innovation Center under the direction of the Executive Director of the Corporate Training Center. Work with the Executive Director of the Corporate Training Center to establish and meet key performance indicators for the AI incubator and Innovation Center including the delivery of open enrollment workshops and customized contract training.
  2. Work alongside businesses and entrepreneurs inside the AI incubator and Innovation Center to lend AI expertise, refer them to AI resources, and partner with external organizations to help them reach their goals.
  3. Establish and oversee partnerships with higher education institutions to create opportunities for student projects and engagement with businesses and entrepreneurs in the AI incubator and Innovation Center.
  4. Create and deliver presentations about the incubator. Serve as the spokesperson on behalf of the college for AI-related matters.
  5. Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  6. Teach 6 courses per academic year. Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
  7. Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
  8. Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
  9. Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
  10. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Participate as a productive member of a team.
  12. Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
  13. Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  14. Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues
  • Strong customer service skills which includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors)
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Knowledge of and familiarity with video-conferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; with 7+ years’ experience in AI, machine learning, data/data analytics/data science or software development OR
  • Master’s Degree preferred and 5+ years’ experience in the above
  • Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate
  • 2 or more years’ experience working in or with private sector companies on AI-related projects, product development or automation
  • 1 or more years of experience working with entrepreneurs. Knowledge of business development and planning, including finance, legal, etc.
  • 1 year of work experience with one type of machine learning (predictive analytics, computer vision, natural language processing, deep learning)
Supplemental Information

This position is a fulltime position and will be available to start on or before March 1, 2024.
Salary
Salary is commensurate based on experience and internal equity. Salary is listed at the hiring range of the current salary table.
