FCI manages a $6 billion loan portfolio, sells 1.5 million acres of crop insurance coverage, and employs 280 staff in the Mahomet headquarters and 14 regional offices.As a Farm Credit Illinois Digital Communications Intern, you'll have opportunities to learn about agriculture in central/southern Illinois, gain valuable hands-on experience, see a project through from start to finish, collaborate throughout the Marketplace Engagement Department (MED) and Association, and become part of a community-oriented team working to serve farmer-members.More specific duties include creating social media strategy, curating content and monitoring results for social media and websites, assisting with graphic design and video/photography projects, researching topics and keywords for writing and editing news releases and newsletter articles, and managing and archiving data. In this role you will use products from Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites such as InDesign and Photoshop, plus various online platforms such as Canva, Google Analytics, and SiteCore.We seek students aligned with our five core values - family, integrity, relationships, expertise, and passion - and motivated to find innovative solutions to business needs.Required SkillsCandidates should possess strong writing and storytelling abilities, digital production skills, a knack for social media and website content, a detail-oriented eye, and working knowledge of AP Style. The position will transition into a full-time 40 hours/week role during the summer and will include four work-intensive days assisting with the coordination of the Farm Credit Newsroom at the State FFA Convention June 10-14 in Springfield. There is potential that the position could extend into the Fall 2024 Semester. Farm Credit Illinois' business hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The internship is based at FCI's central office in Mahomet, Illinois, and summer housing in the Champaign County area is required. Some travel will be required, and mileage will be reimbursed by FCI.
