FBUSD schools include Redwood Elementary School (grades PreK - 2), Dana Gray Elementary (grades 3 - 5), Fort Bragg Middle School (grade 6 - 8), Fort Bragg High School (grades 9 - 12) and three alternative schools - Noyo High School (continuation), Lighthouse Community Day School (grades 9 - 12) and Shelter Cove Community Day School (grades 4 - 8). FBUSD is nestled on the rugged northern California coastline. Comprised of approximately 1700 students, FBUSD is the second largest school district in Mendocino County. DEFINITION To assist credentialed personnel, helping in education related activities and with routine clerical duties in a classroom or other setting for severely handicapped students requiring special services. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Received general supervision from a principal and technical and functional supervision from a teacher or other credentialed personnel.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - May include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in developing daily schedules for the service of students. Works with small groups of students in learning activities, assisting individuals as needed. Leads supervise or participate in planned physical education activities with groups of students. Uses appropriate behavior management techniques. Works with students on the playground, in the cafeteria and in the bus area. Secures and projects audio-visual aids. Assists in the development and production of instructional materials. Collects and distributes instructional materials. Participates in planning, developing and implementing programs of individualized instruction for each student. Consults with staff on student progress and behavior. Attends required in-service training sessions or workshops.
