Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Job Corps Center.
• Supports and assists the Center Director in the administration and oversight of Center operations.
• Directs and supervises programs and activities for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Monitors Program and Outreach/Admissions and subcontract.
• Acts as Center Director in absence of same.
• Insures Center conformity to all government regulations and contractual conditions.
• Provides oversight and continuity for the Center’s current programs; work with management to assess the Center’s current programs and to guide cross-programmatic efforts.
• Provides day-to-day support, coaching and supervision to direct report staff.
• Ensures the flow of relevant information and encourages effective coordination between and among teams.
• Evaluates operational progress against outcome measurement standards contained in Job Corps MIS reports.
• Assists in the review and analysis of outcome measurement standards contained in Job Corps MIS reports. Presents recommendations to the Center Director.
• Monitors and administers departmental budgets and works within budgetary constraints.
• Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.
• Assists the center in every effort necessary to achieve its OMS goals, as well as ensuring that the Zero Tolerance Policy is strictly adhered to.
• Promotes a positive work environment demonstrating career success standards and core values.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• Demonstrated knowledge of management practices and principles; proven ability to lead and support teams
• Strong working knowledge of the methods and practices of Job Corps administration or a similar program
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals and objectives
• Evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment
• Proven ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget
• Ability to effectively build organization and staff capacity
• Capacity to set and enforce accountability
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
• Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree
EXPERIENCE:
• Four years of proven work-related experience in increasingly responsible positions in program management and direction. Experience working with youth.
OTHER:
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
