Under direction of a licensed dentist, provides oral health care to patients by cleaning, scaling and polishing teeth, taking x-rays, applying fluoride, applying preventative sealants and identifying patients in need of corrective dental care.
- Provides oral hygiene instructions to patients and families. Completes charting in the electronic health record.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures of dental hygiene acquired through completion of an accredited program in Dental Hygiene.
- Must possess and maintain current State of Wisconsin licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.
- Requires excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact courteously and respectfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
- Knowledge of computer and keyboard, word processing skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues.
- Ability to stand/walk/move a moderate amount of time, sit frequently, reach moderately, bend/squat/kneel occasionally, push/pull 50 pounds occasionally, and lift/carry items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
- CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Schedule: This is a full-time position-8am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday & Friday 8am -12pm.
Location: 8915 W. Connell Ct. Wauwatosa, WI but it may require travel to other locations as needed.
