Job Purpose
Within the position you support the BCC Sales Department, assisting with loading and unloading equipment from company vehicles and trailers, making deliveries and pick-ups when instructed. Must have 3 years of driving Flatbed Delivery Trucks and a clean motor vehicle Report. Greeting and assisting customers in the yard with excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor as these positions are very physical, and SAFETY is a top priority!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Makes sure the delivery vehicle is safety inspected daily and has proper registration, insurance information, and accident reporting paperwork on board.
- Maintains daily trip logs and vehicle inspection forms as required to assure safety compliance. This applies to those that hold a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) as per DOT regulations.
- Safely loads rental equipment according to proper safety and loading procedures as presented by the company.
- Understands all safety and operating features of the equipment being delivered and provides, “equipment familiarity training” to the customer or end user on delivery.
- Safely unloads, refuels, records hours and fuel consumed, and assists the yard person with staging the equipment for check-in.
- Carries all personal safety equipment to accommodate company and customer safety procedures to include safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, safety shoes, gloves, and safety harnesses for boom lifts, etc.
- Maintains a friendly attitude when greeting and assisting customers in the yard.
- Assists with loading and unloading equipment from company vehicles, trailers and 3rd party trucking companies.
- Brings all packing slips and manuals to the Inventory Supervisor.
- Pulls all sold equipment and accessories per instruction- wash, check fluids, and tag with customer name.
- Stage in the sold area.
- Inspects each returning demo equipment for damage, missing parts, operating instructions, and/or safety decals, reporting these to the Inventory Manager or Service Manager.
- After thoroughly cleaning the equipment (pressure washer and detergent), advise the Inventory Manager of the hours on the machine, and checks all fluid levels and filters before returning to inventory.
- Assists in assembly of new equipment as needed.
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance on pressure washer and keeping the wash bay area clean.
- Operates loading and unloading equipment (forklifts etc.) in a safe manner.
- Thoroughly understands pressure washer operation and complies with safety instructions.
- Keeps the front lot, back lot stocked.
- Assist with deliveries within locations/to customers when needed.
- Fill out proper tracking forms for deliveries/pick-ups.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior Kubota or Bobcat Brand experience a real plus.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
- Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices.
- Ability to be productive by working efficiently and effectively with a high energy level.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must be a well-organized, thoughtful, and self-motivated person.
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task.
- Valid Driver License. CDL Class A preferred.
- Excellent driving record.
- valid medical card required for Class A.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time, and occasionally sit. The associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Constantly perform repetitive tasks; stretch, turn, twist, and reach overhead; bend, crouch, squat, kneel and stoop.
Environmental working conditions vary and employee may encounter vibration, noise, odors, and extremes in temperature and wind as well as exposure to varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting and confined and congested areas and occasionally exposure to petroleum-based products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, and grease.
