Form of workPeraton is seeking Datacenter Technician is seeking a individual who will support our Customer Data Center in Silver Spring, MD. The selected individual will be responsible for racking and stacking equipment, patch cabling, decommissioning equipment, equipment swaps and disposal activities. In addition, they will support troubleshooting hardware issues with remote admins, facilities management, site security, vendor and customer escorts, inventory management and project engagement, as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors with 2-4 years of experience, Masters with 0-2 years, or 6 - 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Must have hands on experience in a datacenter and in network/communication rooms
- Must have the ability to rack and stack physical servers, network devices, appliances, installation of patch cables, and decommission equipment
- Must have the ability to toubleshoot hardware and service connectivity issues and configure ilom using crash cart
- The resource will be required to participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation
- Must have the ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service and reliable team member
