Northwest Partners is looking for a Database Quality Assurance Analyst for a 9-week contract position in Bethesda, Maryland in a hybrid work environment. About the Role:
The Database Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for delivering quality, well-tested SQL Processes to Production. The Database Quality Assurance Analyst should have extensive experience with database testing. Must be able to work well within a team and independently. Understanding of data analysis, data modeling, database design, data migration and business intelligence solutions. Proficiency with database test automation frameworks.

What Will You Be Doing?
- Create database test automation scripts capable of validating schemas, data elements, and advanced calculations.
- Maintain the database test automation library; update/retire existing tests.
- Adhere to client's SDLC and QA processes; participate in continuous improvement of team and processes.
- Analyze and understand the requirements, devise a test strategy, and plan that adequately covers the requirements, develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, and elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases.
- Build and maintain a traceability matrix between requirements and tests.
- Review test artifacts with QA and development team members and edit accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst to produce requirements that are clear, attainable, complete, and testable.
- Work with the product and technical teams to design unit tests, integration tests, functional and smoke tests, system tests, and acceptance tests.
- Write and execute tests (manual and automated), monitor testing progress, report status, find and log defects, track defect fixes, gather and report metrics, choose when and what to re-test, collaborate with team members, monitor project progress, incorporate schedule and scope changes, shepherd the product to delivery, be responsible for quality.
The Ideal Candidate Brings:
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
- Minimum 5+ years of professional software testing experience
- Minimum 2+ years experience in Web services / API Testing.
- Strong Data Analysis skills and the ability to track a data element from source through transformation to target.
- Experience testing processes in SQL Server and/or Snowflake environments.
- Knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, Data pipeline services).
- Proficiency in data validation using complex SQL queries
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools preferably Jenkins.
- Understanding of database design and implementation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Agile and SDLC experience at least 2+ years.
- Advanced skills in MS SQL, MS Excel, MS Visio, Jira skills
