Job Description
The Database & Attendance Manager is responsible for the integration of summer enrollment, parent square information transfer, and summer schedule implementation in the district Aeries system. This role will be focused on the data input of school district students and families to prepare for Summer Learning. This role will include in-person program support and potential subbing at programs starting in June, so must be located in Salinas, CA.
Under general supervision of the Region Manger, perform skilled work in development and maintenance of a variety of databases, but mainly Aeries and all related components; assist users of Aeries (families) in resolving issues that arise including the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of attendance related reporting; perform related support for all sites and programs; assist in the administration of the attendance information system, including ongoing enhancement and information changes to the existing system.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain the Salinas City Elementary School District online Aeries summer program platform
- Train staff on utilizing the system to enter attendance, move kids to different locations, and update enrollment information
- Assist users in resolving Aeries related technical problems
- Enter or oversee the entry of new data into databases
- Monitor and maintain District attendance records
- Prepare reports from databases as required by District staff and mandated in Federal and State programs
- Use industry-standard database programming tools to develop databases for use by District personnel
- Instruct District personnel in data entry policies and procedures when needed
- Use manual or automated techniques to enter data into databases
- Consult with Region Manager to develop efficient mechanisms for gathering and compiling data
- Assist with integrating and standardizing data related to the District Student Information system (Aeries)
- Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, printer, scanner, calculator, and copy/fax machine

- Bachelor's Degree in a related course of study
- Experience working with youth and/or families
- High sense of responsibility and dependability
- Skilled in problem solving and multi tasking
- Collaborative and patient
- Student administration software experience is a HUGE plus
- Training others on how to use database systems is required
- Database development using Google Sheets
- Ability to follow and implement multi-step, written instructions
- General customer relations experience
- Ability to pick up tech systems quickly
Additional Information
Salary Range: $25-$30/hour for 800 total hours between April and August 2023
Start Date: April
Will be expected to be in-person and potentially act as a sub in the Salinas programs
