Job Description

The Data Warehouse Administrator assists in the process automation, the daily updating of the data using SSIS from an Oracle RDB database to a SQL Server 2014 or later database, and SQL Server 2014 or later database administration. The position is involved in the operation, maintenance, and on-going development of the jail management application. The successful candidate will need to be able to write extensive SQL Query statements. This position is responsible for the monitoring and performance of reports. The Data Warehouse Administrator position is also responsible for the technical aspects of a data warehouse, primarily administering databases and resolving all issues to ensure data accuracy. The Data Warehouse Administrator will perform data warehouse design and construction; perform extensive testing, as well as ETL and repository creation. This position will coordinate with other team members and managers to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Essential Functions
•ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load): Monitor and safeguard the ETL process to extract the data from Lock and Track into a data warehouse Staging area using SSIS as well as to implement additional data sets from new data sources.
•Monitoring and safeguarding the ETL process to move the data from the Staging area into the data warehouse star schema using SSIS. Maintain and enhance the business rules and transformations that will be utilized to cleanse and standardize the data
•Design and implementation of aggregate tables, views, and virtual tab
•SQL Server Database Administration: Perform aspects of database administration to support optimal performance of the data warehouse
•Handling of routine operational issues that come up with the data warehouse
•Responsible for working with the MIS staff for backup and recovery procedures
•Creating SSIS scripts including ETL packages
•Building SSRS reports with Visual Studio
•Data modeling
•Supporting Windows 2012-2019 Server Operating Environments
•Supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later
•Supports IJMS (Lock & Track) Operating Environment
•Training MIS Support Staff
•Provides feedback on software licensing needed for the position
•Works with Central OIT staff and contracted staff on operations and project work
•Provides end-users training
•Knowledge of SSRS environment support
•Maintains Reporting Intranet site

Qualifications

•Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, departmental officials and outside consultants;
•Analyze and present complex data structures;
•Learn the operations, functions, data and reporting needs and business requirements;
•Learn the regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures related to the work of the Prisons;
•Read, interpret and understand technical information and apply cross-functional knowledge;
•Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers and system users;
•May assist with planning, organizing, and directing the work activities of outside consultants and/or systems analysts and programming personnel assigned on a team;
•Advise OIT and Prisons management with respect to systems development projects and/or enhancements
•Job Scheduling (creation, modifying and monitoring);
•Microsoft Access 2016
•Web development with knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (Preferred);

Additional Information

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000
