We’re currently looking for a Data Technician that MUST have experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to twisted pair, coax, Category 5e, Category 6 and Category 6A, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Cable installations include pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling. BICSI cert (current or past) a plus, but not needed. IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing experience a plus.
Responsabilities:
- Pulling and routing CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A cable in a new construction and existing structure commercial environment
- Access Points (WAP's)
- Terminating data jacks
- Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
- Building out cable closets (MDF/IDFs)
- Install, Troubleshoot, and repair Telephone, Data and Fiber Optic Cables
- Installation of Surface Mount Raceway
- Test and certify cables with Level V test equipment
- Adhere to all quality and safety code
Qualifications:
- Pulling, routing, installing, and terminating structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment.
- Experience installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
- Working with Boom and Scissor Lifts a plus, but not needed.
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards.
