We are seeking a Data Governance Business Analyst to support our Data Governance team.


The Data Governance Business Analyst is responsible for developing procedures to enhance the accuracy and integrity of our organization's data. The Data Governance Business Analyst will be performing data analysis, collaborating with database developers to enhance data collection and storage procedures, and preparing data analysis reports. Also responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Growing the Data Governance Department.

 

***CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)***

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Create and maintain a catalog of key business reports with meta data such as report objectives, fields, data sources, frequency, owners/stewards/primary users.
  • Build and maintain common definitions of business terms and metrics for Business Intelligence reporting to facilitate data literacy and accurate report interpretation.
  • Assist in the creation and on-going maintenance of documentation of all company Data including the creation of a CFC Master Data Dictionary and CFC Master Data Lineage mapping.
  • Establish authoritative data sources and visualize relationships between reports and the data and KPIs used in those reports.
  • Work with report owners and data stewards to create data lineage diagrams to drive clarity and trust in BI reports.
  • Define a repeatable process to manage how reports and metrics are governed and validated.
  • Improve Business Intelligence accessibility and collaboration by leveraging pre-defined, validated reports.
  • Establish a governance and change management of critical data elements that are essential to all reports.
  • Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
  • Develop control structures within a simple environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Execute Daily/Weekly/Monthly self-audits of CFC Data to ensure ongoing integrity
  • Identify the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries, and provide reports.
  • Analyze, document, and make recommendations to improve existing or new business reporting processes.
  • Manage short and long-term projects and new initiatives.
  • Monitor and report to management production issue in timely manner.
  • Perform and report on root cause analysis, and recommend future process improvements and defect prevention,

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, MIS, or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
  • Credit Card experience preferred.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new business functions.
  • Must have excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Knowledge of the SCRUM a plus.
  • Strong understanding of databases and data structures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to ensure the completion of assigned tasks with minimal management guidance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, Structured Query Language (SQL) and SAS a Plus
  • PC-related skills (Excel, Word, and other software applications) are required.
  • Tableau a plus.
