This position requires two days of on-site work each week.
We're looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to join a top-notch group supporting world class science and technology at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). Zurka Interactive is expanding our team at NRL in Washington DC. You will be part of a growing team managing centralized IT services on unclassified and classified networks for multiple sites across the US.
The candidate will work as part of a team responsible for engineering, implementing, and maintaining Cyber Security and compliance solutions for the Laboratory.
A qualified candidate will have experience with administration and operation of information security compliance applications, operating systems, and creation of STIG checklist and security reports.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge in one or more security tools including: McAfee/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Tenable Nessus, Splunk, Acunetix, or WebInspect.
Qualified candidates will have primary experience performing one or more of the following tasks:
Endpoint Security Solution (ESS)
Experience managing the deployment of the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator product and all components, as well as experience maintaining the OS and SQL instances. Must have a solid understanding of Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention, Policy Auditor and Application Control. Knowledge of tuning and excluding Exploit Prevention events, as well as having the capability to create and implement customized firewall rules across multiple device types is required.
Assured Compliance Security Solution (ACAS)
Experience deploying kickstart images, creating and organizing ACAS scan groups, managing user access, permissions and roles. An understanding of vulnerability management, remediation actions and reporting methods is required.
Splunk
Candidate should have a solid understanding of security information and event management (SIEM) technologies, event log collection across various devices, experience with writing search queries and alerting.The candidate will be responsible for managing the deployment of the Splunk platform across multiple environments, managing the configuration of collection sources, and the ability to create and customize dashboards and reporting tools with on-premise and cloud-based solutions
Candidates should be able to demonstrate understanding and appropriate application of DoD policy and technical security guidance to information systems. A solid understanding of Windows systems administration, general operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts is required. Candidates must be able to understand and apply DISA STIG guidance to information systems, devices, networks, and platforms. Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) is preferable but not required.
Qualifications and Skills
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical field and minimum 5 years of information assurance or Cyber Security experience is required.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and be able to take on tasks quickly with minimal direction. Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with a high level of attention to detail are required to succeed in this diverse environment.
Candidates must meet DoD 8570 requirements for an IAT III level position, including an active CompTIA CASP certification or equivalent.
Ability to be on site 2 days a week and a DoD Security Clearance (Top Secret) is required.
