Job Summary:

Cuready is looking for an experienced CVOR Tech to work an 13-week contract at one of our affiliated hospitals in Hays, KS.

• 13-week contract

• Day shift; 6:30a-5p

• 40 hours/ week

• Call required

• Scrub required

Job requirements: The Surgical Tech is certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) and has BLS with 2 years of CVOR experience. Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of sterile technique and has a working knowledge of the specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of special procedures.

Certs:

• Maintains current ACLS certification

• NBSTA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist

• First Assist

Responsibilities: The Surgical Technician is responsible for following protocols approved by the medical staff and department policy and procedures in order to provide timely services to both inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include: Assisting with room turnovers and set-ups; restocking and ordering supplies, utilizing preference cards to prepare for surgical procedure; scrubbing all cases as assigned; anticipating needs of case by opening correct supplies and instruments; is attentive to flow of the surgery so that surgeons' needs are anticipated, Promotes patient safety by participating in the surgical time out; labeling medications on the field; verifying patient weight and allergies with RN prior to passing medications to physician; communication of hand-off of care when relieved during case; and selection of appropriate instruments and supplies based on patient size and procedure.
