Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

This position is for an experienced process engineer within the SAS facilities in Austin, TX. The individual selected for this position will participate in the development and implementation of advanced CVD Thin Films equipment in a state-of-the-art 300mm production facility. Projects will primarily involve optimization of existing processes, with continuous improvement of uptime, reduction of equipment generated defects, and improvement of process control.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Work with Equipment Engineers and Process Technicians to troubleshoot process issues for a 24/7 high volume manufacturing site.
  • Provide expert knowledge and judgment for change point management decisions.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data for process improvements relating to defect reduction, process control, and throughput improvement
  • Participate in fab to fab standardization activities, tool to tool matching, cost reduction, defect reduction, as well as manufacturing throughput improvement projects.
  • Respond to critical fab events that require containment speed and quick resolution to ensure minimal impact to product. Generate reports (such as 8D) illustrating root cause of incidents, corrective actions and future preventative measures.
  • Provide technical leadership, train and mentor junior engineers and process technicians to spread knowledge and improve team efficiency
  • Drive baseline SPC interlock reduction activities
  • Support technology node transfers and factory ramps through setup and qualification of new processes or equipment.
  • Effectively communicate as priorities and circumstances change. Recognizes communication and task planning/passdowns are critical to maintaining a highly productive and team-oriented environment.
  • Respectfully challenge status quo, assumptions, conclusions or quality standards to ensure correct decisions are being made.

Shift:
  • 1st Shift - Monday-Friday 8-5PM


Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS/MS Engineering - Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or other science degree
  • Desire to take on technical challenges and shifting priorities in a fast paced cutting edge environment
  • Able to work with others in a team-oriented culture
  • Strong skills in logical and objective data analysis with an ability to establish and track metrics to meet goals. Be able to summarize, and present data in an easy to understand format
  • Effective communication especially as priorities and circumstances change.
  • Experience with project management and project prioritization. Ability to define milestones for a project, work in parallel on multiple projects, and balance long term projects with daily sustaining.
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes
  • Ability to rapidly come up to speed with new computer applications and systems
  • Experience with SPC and/or understanding of SPC rules
  • Experience with creating standard operating procedures or technical writing
  • Experience in the semiconductor environment or in high volume manufacturing, desired
  • Experience working with one or more types of CVD Equipment: AMAT Producer/Ultima, Lam, desired
  • Express/Extreme/Excel, ASM MIR3000, Wonik equipment, desired
  • Basic scripting experience with Python, R, SQL, or Visual Basic, desired
