Due to clearances, candidates must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background check
This position is remote, but candidates MUST reside in Texas due to occasional travel to district offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for assigned district traffic contacts
- Serve as a liaison and trusted advisor between our managed services teams and districts key personnel.
- Consult with the development of the Technology Plan and Roadmap.
- Ensure district traffic projects adhere to the agency standards for network and security.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic plans, technical projects and serve as the escalation contact for operational issues.
- Facilitate weekly/monthly/quarterly operations meetings with the districts personnel to provide and review score cards and key ITSM metrics.
- Coordinate with state, regional and local agencies on their strategic plans for deploying traffic devices including Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Portable Variable Message Signs (PVMS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), radar and loop detectors, traffic counting equipment, wireless traffic sensors, Road Weather Information System (RWIS) devices, traffic signal systems and associated detection systems, flashers/hybrid beacons.
Preferred Experience and Attributes:
- 5 years experience in planning, engineering design or consulting services to a state transportation agency or a major metropolitan regional organization
- Involvement with planning and deployment of communication systems for traffic devices as part of statewide or regional traffic data collection systems, traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to develop plans and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Technical involvement or participation in stakeholder outreach and public involvement process
- Understanding of ITSM framework and experience with ServiceNow
