Maintains security of grounds, buildings, and persons by conducting rounds and making security & safety tours; secures doors, windows, gates, small appliances, and equipment; enforces rules and regulations of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, as well as all appropriate federal, state, and local statutes.
Makes periodic rounds inside and outside of buildings, watching for prowlers, fires, leaks or any other situations that might endanger or result in loss of or damage to persons or property.
Sweep, mop, strip, wax and renew floor surfaces, clean rugs and carpets, wash walls, clean and dust furniture and fixtures; clean glass and mirrors; empty and clean trash receptacles; clean toilets and restrooms. Make a list of repairs needed, and a list of supplies needed.
Warn persons of rule infractions or safety concerns and if necessary, evict violators from premises.
Assists with after hour events. Duties may include monitoring the departure of visitors, employees, volunteers and other guests in parking lot while leaving. Assist employees/volunteers in clean up, tear down and/or set up to have facility ready for next day business.
Using cell phone provided by HPLM, call the police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire, those violating Hayes Presidential safety policies or presence of unauthorized persons.
Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics.
Reports, documents, provides information; makes recommendations regarding security or safety conditions; provides information to and/or summons authorities when appropriate; provides direction to the public.

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
