Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Participate in continuous improvement projects; take advantage of tools and programs that will increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting practices

·         Ad-hoc financial analysis and financial reporting including variances to plan

·         Prepare monthly journal entries, maintain various general ledger support schedules, and analyze accounting transactions for proper classification

·         Generate and distribute recurring reports that measure the metrics of the site and provide clear, concise information, while providing accurate and transparent reporting into the financial statements for internal and external stakeholders

·         Support the monthly closing activities including balance sheet account reconciliations and other accounting projects, as assigned

·         Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close

·         Forecast and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles

·         Work with functional leaders on analysis of obsolete inventory for disposition

·         Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor

·         Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts

·         Accept and adapt easily to change

·         Ensure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; combination of relevant education and experience required

·         2+ years of cost accounting experience, financial forecasting, and three-statement modeling in a manufacturing environment required; cost or operations accounting in aerospace manufacturing preferred

·         5+ of progressive experience in Accounting and Analysis roles that includes reporting on financial results, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and delivering KPI insights and decision support to senior management preferred

·         Experience using business analysis and data visualization tools beyond Excel (i.e. PowerBI, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, SQL) preferred

·         Excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles required

·         Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Word required

·         Solid understanding of accounting general ledger and month-end close, cost accounting principles, account reconciliations and variance analysis, balance sheet and income statement, and internal financial controls required

·         Understanding of US GAAP and familiarity with revenue recognition regulations required

·         Experience with inventory management including, but not limited to, cycle counts, reconciliation, transfers, and valuations preferred

·         Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards preferred

·         Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports required

·         Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)

·         Sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities

·         Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines

·         Exhibit dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions

·         Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted

·         Ability to manage competing priorities, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines
