Doyon Government Group (DGG) is looking for a motivated and energetic planning and scheduling professional to join its expanding team, supporting federal construction projects. The ideal candidate should be a proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently, while also engaging closely with Operations Project Teams, Doyon Executives, Subcontractors, and Owners.

DGG is looking for a Construction Project Scheduler (Project Scheduler) to use their experience and ability to support planning and scheduling efforts on multiple projects. Project Scheduler shall have experience with complex coast loaded construction schedules up to $60MM.  They are also expected to contribute to Corporate Initiatives including, but not limited to, training development and delivery, data analytics, trend identification and reporting.

JOB SUMMARY: The Project Scheduler is responsible for managing and performing all aspects of project scheduling, primarily using P6 and Microsoft Project systems.  Duties include creating required project schedules and associated submittals, monthly schedule updates, added work-delay-fragnet proposal deliverables, maintaining a companywide project schedule, developing WBS forecasts and working with project teams to ensure that schedules are developed and are kept up to date on USACE, NAVFAC, and other federal projects.  Estimating and proposal schedules may also be required. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
•    Understand and implement accepted Planning and Scheduling Best Practices 
•    Analyze drawings, specifications, and statements of work to prepare approvable, usable Baseline schedules for construction. 
•    Work closely with various disciplines in each project team (including Doyon company employees, subcontractors, and suppliers) to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the project schedules.
•    Maintain objectivity as a scheduler when analyzing project schedules and provide unbiased status reports to the project teams for        objective analysis and action.
•    Develop and maintain schedules and reports that communicate project status and progress.
•    Develop and maintain a master project schedule with accurate projected revenue and timelines for all active projects.
•    Update cost and resource data, load schedules, and report accurate monthly earned value management assessments (versus the baseline schedule) to the project teams and senior management.
•    Communicate areas of concern to Project Managers, the Project Controls Manager and other management personnel.
•    Prepare Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards. 
•    Have flexibility in work style to respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities.
•    Ensure that all planning and scheduling activities, such as schedule development and project reporting, comply with company and contract requirements.
•    Ability to travel to projects sites.
•    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, computer science or related degree; or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.
•    Demonstrated experience in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), scheduling and schedule analysis, cost estimating and control.
•    Five years of hands-on experience in developing and updating schedules using Primavera P6 on USACE or NAVFAC projects, including all associated requirements, reports, and skills.
•    Construction experience - i.e., “boots on the ground.” This is site-level construction experience who knows the construction process preferred.
•    Excellent collaboration and communication skills are required.
•    Experience performing TIAs for project delays.
•    P6 certification or ability to quickly obtain certification.
•    Computer skills:

  • Proficient using computers and other related data and communication devices.
  • Ability to seamlessly use the entire suite of Microsoft Software tools, including MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, and other MS programs generally in use.
  • Experience using internet-based data sharing and collaboration systems for construction, opportunity pipeline and proposal activities.  
  • Proficient with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project and other construction scheduling tools.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing up to forty pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Travel occasionally.
