Job Description
The purpose of this position is to launch, maintain, evolve, and grow a new Corporate Program within the Communications Society (ComSoc) that engages our industry partners with the mission of ComSoc. The incumbent will leverage in depth and broad technical knowledge of telecommunications technologies such as wireless, optical, networking. This knowledge is used to build relationships and rapport with dozens of telecommunications companies and to develop new products and services that directly translate those technologies into value added benefits in the program. They/Them will use their understanding of each company's technology strategy to manage the relationship and steer connections between the company and the technical groups, conferences and events that are relevant to them. It is critical to have broad industry knowledge in telecommunications and be able to act independently to create, drive, and nurture relationships with industry executives.
This position is responsible for assisting IEEE ComSoc in advancing its mission to advance technology for humanity. This position works to ensure that there is a clear and concise development strategy for current and future technology initiatives that support the needs of our Corporate Program participating companies. The position achieves this through the successful execution in the following categories:
● Relationship development and engagement
● Positioning ComSoc as the premier organization for companies to demonstrate technology leadership within the telecommunications industry
● Providing technology connections and strategic insights
● Delivering operational excellence in the management and execution of the new ComSoc Corporate Program
The role reports to the Industry Outreach and Technical Activities Director and functions as a high level individual contributor, but has matrix management accountabilities to other relevant Directors as well as oversees the deliverables for contractors. This position works under consultative direction and requires significant global travel. This role functions as a global practice Senior Manager and is expected to function in a proactive manner working as a partner with and across ComSoc and its volunteers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and grow the new ComSoc Corporate Program with comprehensive collateral and infrastructure for marketing
- Develop and drive a clear revenue growth plan in year two and beyond
- Establish relationships with telecommunications companies and become familiar with their key technology drivers
- Lead, direct and manage the development of new products and services that directly translate key technologies into value added benefits in the program and result in incremental revenue
- Drive and steer connections between corporate partners and key volunteer groups to drive incremental revenue of ComSoc products & services, including but not limited to patronage at conferences and events, training, membership and publications
- Connect corporate partners to appropriate technical groups and standards activities based on their technology strategy
- Oversee fulfillment of program’s rewards in conjunction with ComSoc staff and the appropriate volunteers

Education
- Master's or other advanced degree Engineer, communications, or related field Req
Work Experience
- 7-10 years Practical industry experience with broad technical knowledge in the telecommunications community and at least seven years of business development and/or program management related experience. Req
Skills and Requirements
- Well developed business acumen and business management skills, complemented by strategic expertise and sound business judgment.
- Account-based technical sales experience preferred, including funnel management
- Must possess excellent skills in communications, networking, presentation, and development of relationships that will further the continued growth and industry relevance of the ComSoc Corporate Program.
- He or she must possess strong people and time management skills.
- CRM experience preferred.
- Must possess a global multi-cultural sensitivity.
- Valid Passport for international travel required
