MCI seeks a Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Technician to install, program, and service, digital control systems while maintaining quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The position is located at our headquarters in Charlotte NC and reports to the Systems Integration Group (SIG) manager within the Integrated Building Services (IBS) department.

Essential Job DutiesBAS project installation and verification.- Commission controls installation and verifies that control sequences meet specifications.
- Complete commissioning reports as proof of controls verification.
- Document installations for “as-built” control drawings.
- Organize and demonstrate required BAS project sequences to meet commissioning agents' requirements.
- Represent the company by serving as direct customer contact.
- Coordinate electrical and other sub-contractors to ensure proper project completion.
- Implement databases, programs, and graphics for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Confirm implementation meets project specifications.
- Provide technical support to customers.
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems at the customer's location.
- Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
- Provide training and follow-up at the customer's site for operations personnel.
- Determine parts to order for repairs.
- Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
- Provide technical assistance to HVAC technicians on controls issues.
- Mentor junior technicians.
- Provide sales leads to Systems Integration Group Manager or appropriate salesperson.
- Provide training at customer's site for operations personnel.
- Maintain and review documentation to meet BAS project requirements.
- Review project paperwork with Controls Project Manager.
- Review projects with System Integration Group Manager.
- Manage workload by prioritizing, planning, and seeking assistance when needed.
- Work in a focused, results-oriented manner.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail as part of all normal work practices.
- Continually look for ways to improve, replace, or eliminate work processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work in a cooperative and supportive fashion with all clients, internal and external, to foster positive perceptions of the service team.
- Show flexibility in dealing with changing work demands and priorities.
Academic Credentials, Certifications, Licenses:
- BS Degree in engineering technology, or Diploma or certificate from a two-year community college, or technical school, or 5 years of experience in BAS controls systems.
- Educational background in electronics, computer programming, or mechanical technology.
- Valid driver's license.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems.
- Tridium N4 and AX programming.
- Distech Controls experience
- ASC and programming controller experience in at least one OEM product line.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Fully proficient and independent design skills.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
- Self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour based on experience.
