Contract Senior Moodle Developer

As a Senior Moodle Developer, you will play a pivotal role in customizing and enhancing our Moodle-based e-learning platform. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and managing course activities and resources using the standard Moodle themes and plugins. You will work remotely or in-office, collaborating with a talented team of educators, designers, and developers to create engaging and effective online courses. 
 
We are looking for a dedicated individual with a proven track record in Moodle content management, as well as user management. 
 
Responsibilities: 

• Apply Moodle themes and plugins to meet project requirements. 
• Develop and manage course activities, resources, and assessments. 
• Collaborate our instructional designers and educators to create engaging and interactive course content. 
• Develop and extend Moodle's core features by creating existing plugins. 
• Collaborate with the development team to develop the e-learning platform. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Moodle. 

Required: 

• Skills: Proficiency in Core PHP, Moodle, CSS, MySQL, HTML, JQuery, JavaScript, and Ajax. 
• Strong understanding of LTI tools and multiple format content management. 
• Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree/diploma in any stream. 
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. 

Desired: 

• Experience in web development, including PHP, HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, and CSS. 
• Proficiency in integrated plugins and writing new plugins to extend Moodle's core features. 
• Strong expertise in data management and query building using MySQL and other RDBMS. 
• Familiarity with XML data structures and web services. 
• Proven experience in customizing Moodle functionalities and developing custom themes for Moodle. 
• Good command of English is required. 

Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
