Our Defined Contribution (DC) Advisory Consultants provide investment advisory and fiduciary support services to mid-size clients. Target market includes clients with 200 - 5,000 employees, and $10M - $200M in defined contribution plan assets.
This position requires basic knowledge and experience in investments and the defined contribution marketplace, with overall responsibility for supporting Defined Contribution Consultants in maintaining an assigned client base and growing our business. The Analyst will have a wide range of responsibilities including assisting in investment research and analysis, business development, client relationship management, and building relationships with internal partners to support the successful identification of prospective clients.
The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge of financial and investment concepts and experience working with defined contribution clients, have the applicable licenses, and be able to immediately step into the role to support DC Retirement Consultants.
The Role
Client Support
- Gather asset reports from vendors for creating client investment reports
- Produce client investment reports as requested by advisor
- Produce metrics/reporting from recordkeeper and integrate into client presentations
- Create and maintain standardized deliverables
- Participate in client meetings where appropriate
- Assist client support as required by the Consultants
- Perform ad hoc tasks to help support and grow our business
Business Development
- Create and maintain standardized materials that can be used across the practice
- Support advisors in construction of client presentations, proposals and RFP responses
- Assist with coordination of client meetings and finalist presentations
- Aggregate industry resources and help construct industry benchmarking reports appropriate for mid-market clients
- Work on vendor searches for clients and maintain database that is applicable to mid-market segment
- Assist in performing fee & service benchmarking and preparing reports
Investments
- Assist in performing investment searches for hiring investment managers
- Assist in ongoing monitoring and due diligence of investment mangers
- Prepare quarterly investment reports for client meetings
- Assist in target date due diligence reporting and stable value analysis
- Communicate investment changes with DC Recordkeepers and coordinate necessary paperwork with Clients
- Join quarterly investment committees and participate as needed
- Demonstrate ability to present and communicate effectively with senior level executives
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business (Finance or MBA preferred)
- Licenses (Series 6 or 7, and 63; Series 65 Investment Advisor Rep, or Series 66 (covering the requirements of the Series 63 and 65) /State Life & Health license (or to be obtained within 6 months) or ability to obtain
- Knowledge of the defined contribution marketplace preferred
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and coordinate with other team members
- Ability to handle and resolve client related issues in fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including executive-level presentation skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), and ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Experience with RPAG platform is a plus
