Pay Range: $15 - $19.23 p/hr. ($31,000 - $40,000 annualized) plus full benefit package
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday; 6AM – 2:30PM
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Crew Leader is the construction site representative for Pensacola Habitat for Humanity (PHFH). The Crew leader will supervise overall construction activities for both volunteers and Home Buyers in accordance with the PHFH mission of building homes, communities, and hope. The Crew Leader shall ensure that daily construction activities are performed to PHFH standards in accordance with Pensacola Habitat’s house plans, specifications, and quality requirements. In addition, the Crew Leader is expected to continually ensure a safe construction environment in accordance with HFHI Competent Person Safety Training. At the end of each workday, the Crew Leader will update all required project information within the BUILDERTREND software application. The Crew Leader makes independent site decisions and works frequently with volunteers, Home Buyers, and internal construction staff.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Commits to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope
· Supervises job sites daily to ensure construction is accomplished in accordance with approved permits and plans
· Supervises all site preparation and layout prior to the start of the build
· In accordance with PHFH, conducts and/or assist a daily on-site Construction Safety Meeting for the volunteers and home buyers prior to the commencement of any work activities
· Completes workers’ compensation accident forms and notifies HR Director immediately, if applicable
· Identifies and recommends potential advantageous building practices and material cost savings
· Displays knowledge of city and county building codes
· Pays attention to construction site detail and overall quality control
· At the end of each workday, ensures the construction site is clean, swept, and all tools put away
· At end of each workday, makes sure all tools are in safe and good working condition
· Sends damaged tools for repair, daily, if applicable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Knowledge in standard framing practices
· Skilled in the use of standard construction tools
· Knowledge in reading and interpreting building plans and specifications
· Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage the work site
· Ability to motivate, communicate, and team build
· Basic knowledge in using a computer
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Knowledge in leading a team
· Minimum of 1 year residential, construction experience – 3 years preferred
· Framing experience
· Experience working with volunteers a plus
· Knowledge in standard remodeling a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is performed daily on PHFH construction sites and occasionally in a warehouse or office setting. This position requires frequent standing, climbing ladders, working at heights of 8 feet or greater, and lifting of 25 pounds or more.
This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier. This position also requires additional pre-employment screenings.
