Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Console Specialist (2nd Shift, Part-Time) - CHAPEA Mars Mission Analog Control Center to join our team with JETS II Teammate company, Oceaneering Space Systems.
The selected candidate will:
- Participate in a team environment to provide mission control staffing for NASA's CHAPEA 1-year Mars surface mission analog study (24/7 coverage). The primary purpose is to support the evaluation of food systems during long-term space missions
- Perform real-time evaluation of safety conditions within the Mars analog habitat to ensure safety of the analog mission crew and habitat facility
- Maintain situational awareness of crew activities and habitat facility functions to ensure crew safety
- Contribute to mission planning activities for the analog crew mission such as the development of timelines, checklists, plans, and procedures including but not limited to mock_EVAs, science operation tasks, exercise activities
- Provide daily status reports including mission progress and issues to the mission operations manager
- Participate in daily status meetings
- Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors
- Work will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift operations
- Understand and execute safety-critical responses with respect to off-nominal situations
- Understand and execute troubleshooting during mission with regards to IT
- Provide handover notes to adjacent shift workers to ensure crew daily plans and related activities are successfully performed
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Requisition Qualifications:
- Typically requires a HS diploma and 10 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
- Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
- Experience working in a team environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Requisition Preferences:
- STEM Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
- Student seeking a science or engineering degree from an accredited school
Prior NASA engagement with analog missions or educational activitie
IT system administrator experience including troubleshooting
