The intern will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of drug mechanism of action and durability of patient response with the goal to influence patient stratification and treatment strategies in future. These will include analyzing exciting sequencing-based data generated from clinical trials from patients diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), explore potential biomarkers of response in the context of known disease biology followed by interpretation and communication of these results to the larger Immunology Translational Sciences team. This internship offers a unique training opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical trial data analysis, develop a deeper understanding of inflammatory diseases and collaborate across cross-functional teams in an industry setting to progress biomarker discovery in the GI space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of clinical trial datasets spanning blood, gut biopsies and serum samples from IBD patients to characterize molecular inflammation, assess drug treatment effects compared to placebo and prioritize biomarkers of response biology.
  • Familiarize with IL23 biology and the inflammatory landscape in IBD to interpret computational findings in the appropriate biological context.
  • Interact optimally with other teams to share insights and progress updates on the analyses, encouraging a communicative and collaborative culture.
