What you will be doing: 

  • Responsible for the oversight of the various compliance programs (Lending/Deposit) at Jovia. Works to ensure the credit union remains compliant with all regulations and mitigates potential liabilities.
  • Provides daily compliance guidance and direction to departments and branches, including but not limited to the review and drafting documents in accordance with our established procedures.  Responds to compliance inquires within established service levels to maintain operational excellence.
  • Reviews and provides compliance guidance to all Marketing materials (paper/website) to ensure proper adherence to various regulations and disclosure requirements.
  • Knowledge of member eligibility requirements /screening practices and NCUA rules and regulations
  • Keep abreast of, monitor, and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules, and regulations, and advise management of the operational impact of such trends and changes. Facilitate implementation of new and regulatory changes as necessary
  • Knowledge of various lending regulations, such as RESPA, HMDA, SCRA, FCRA, ECOA, TILA
  • Knowledge of various depository regulations, such as Reg E, Reg CC, Truth in Savings, E-sign, UDAAP
  • Perform regulatory research including but not limited to laws (federal/state) and open cases affecting the Lending & Financial industry.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development to ensure appropriate compliance training materials are reviewed and provided.
  • Provides informed regulatory and compliance information and awareness to staff (and Credit Union members when necessary) through positive, proactive communication, education programs and materials.

What we need from you:

  • A College degree from four-year College/university or 3-4 years Deposit/Regulatory experience; depository & lending regulatory certificates are a plus.
  • PC literacy is required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills reflecting a positive attitude are critical to success in this position.
  • A confident professional, who is detail oriented with the ability to multitask and work autonomously and/or with a team as required.
  • Willing to work flexible hours when required, exhibit a cooperative spirit, willingness to work as part of a team, and a commitment to member service.

Work From Home Requirements:

  • Internet speed of 100mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)
  • Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
  • All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset)
