PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Community Relations Advisor (Communications) to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.
The Community Relations Advisor (Communications) reports to the Community Relations Manager and is a member of the Community Relations Department, a support organization for the Martinez Refining Company. The successful candidate will play an integral role in a vibrant and energetic Community Relations team and should be able to manage a variety of duties, including, but not limited to, internal and external communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and crisis management.

As described below in more detail, the position requires strong written and oral communication skills, planning and project execution skills, and the ability to work both independently and on project and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and coordinate internal and external communications; events, programs, and initiatives, under deadline, including but not limited to:
  • Newsletters, releases, email bulletins, website, social media and digital platforms etc.
  • Corporate initiatives
  • Refinery tours
  • Employee engagement and advocacy
• Translate technical information into clear, legible documents and adapt style, tone, and word choices to communicate with various audiences
• Serve as a member of the refinery's emergency response team, by interacting with the media and public and proactively supporting community awareness pertaining to refinery operations
• Support philanthropic and community activities
• Represent company at community events
• Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including co-workers, refinery workforce, public officials, and local media

Working Conditions:

• Participate in the refinery response team, Media-Duty and on-call rotation
• Some evening hours and weekend work responsibilities

Position Specific Requirements:

• Candidate must have active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card. Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or related discipline, or the equivalent work experience
• 5 years of media relations and writing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in refining or other process industry

The salary range for this position is $84,617.04 - $142,857.98. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases.
