Job Summary:
Assist students in developing employment skills, community access skills, independent living skills, transportation skills, and social skills. Work closely with high school case managers to provide community resources, including agency supports, employment presenters. Participate in transition planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist students with community-based access skills.
- Assist in high school classroom to develop job search skills, interview skills, and connections to community resources.
- Document student progress and write reports on student work
- Assist with organizing and attending adult agency tours.
- Attend various meetings including: Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, Agency meetings and department and/or team meetings, 18-21 Community Connection Program planning meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's (or higher) Degree OR 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours) OR passed the Work Keys Exam the District-approved assessment to meet the requirements of the Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) required at hire.

Required Test are: Applied Mathematics, Workplace Documents and Business Writing.
- 0 - 2 years experience.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, behavior management, and disability categories.
- Knowledge of the community and employment opportunities is also preferred.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies, District Policies and building and department procedures; communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds and recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
- CPR and First Aid required.
- Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required for hire.
