About this role:
This position reports to the head of Commercial Banking Communications and leads a team of communicators responsible for media and public relations for business. The incumbent will design strategic external communications programs that focus on promoting Commercial Banking's growth story, along with its products, services, and thought leadership in key national, trade, and regional media outlets. This position will sit at 150 East 42nd Street in New York, NY and is required to be in the office 3 days a week. The Wells Fargo job profile is Communications Director.
In this role, you will:
Coach and mentor, a team of five geographically dispersed communicators
Develop communication strategies to promote key products, services, and thought leaders
Develop messaging to promote the business in strategically important geographic markets
Identify external speaking and social media opportunities
Track and measure results to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes
Partner with internal communicators to ensure alignment of strategies and messaging
Write press releases, media statements, social media submissions, and client talking points
Develop relationships with reporters from key national print and broadcast media outlets

Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience designing strategic external communications programs
Experience developing integrated communications strategies and plans
Experience in crisis communications or issues management
Experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for storytelling
Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed teams within a matrix organization
Experience building strong relationships and working across large organizations
