JOB SUMMARY:
Accurately assigns ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT HCPCS codes to inpatient and/or outpatient records in accordance with AHA s official coding guidelines, hospital-specific coding guidelines, LCD/NCD edits OP/ED coding, AHA coding clinics IP coding and CPT Assistant guidelines Accurately drop daily Radiation Oncology charges and assist with patient registration,
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
AAS degree or clinical background is a plus
Completion of the following courses is required: Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology and Disease Process
Completion of the following courses is preferred: Pharmacology and Pathology,
Knowledge of healthcare payment and reimbursement systems is preferred MS-DRGs, AP- DRGs, APC, etc,
Certification/Licensure:
Coding certifications are required: CCS or CPC
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Must read, write and speak English
Knowledge and of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS and/ HCPCS and CPT coding
Successful completion of on-site, departmental orientation
