CIT is looking for CMM Operator to join our team located in Franklin, WI.

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Quality Control Supervisor and the Quality Engineer supporting the CMM Lab, the Quality CMM Operator II is responsible for working with the Quality Engineer to program and process parts through the CMM Lab in order to validate manufactured parts and to satisfy facility demand.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set up and program the Zeiss Accura and Contura CMM machines in Calypso.
  • Ability to program, set up, and operate multiple CMM machines.
  • Experience with Hexagon Romer Arm with RS5 laser scanner and PC-DMIS.
  • Generate and manage dimensional reports.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-tolerance dimensions to ensure rejections are validated.
  • Utilize small measurement equipment/ gaging to support dimensional verification.
  • Communicate and work with Production Value Streams to ensure flow of product is maintained.
  • Support MDI and MRB activity associated with the CMM Lab.
  • Communicate daily demand and status to Quality Management.
  • Generate and manage necessary quality notifications for nonconforming product.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two-year technical degree in an engineering or related field, or 5+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience within an ISO controlled and/or government regulated environment
  • 5+ years of CMM programming experience utilizing Zeiss Calypso
  • Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred

  • Zeiss Optical Sensors and Curve Training
  • Zeiss PiWeb Reporting Training

  • PC-DMIS for Arms 102 - Scanning


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.


JOB SKILLS

  • Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
  • Strong technical skills including the ability to understand, and manipulate CAD models and parametric data
  • Ability to build and qualify new styli systems to align with an efficient measurement strategy
  • Experience with global/ advanced setting optimization in Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS
  • Strong technical skills including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings including advanced knowledge of GD T principles
  • Strong ability to complete part alignments, including start alignments, and advanced alignments for characteristic evaluation
  • Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to program with Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS software with limited oversight or supervision
  • Strong background with dimensional verification including the use of gaging
  • Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
  • Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Carlisle IT Franklin is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job when in the manufacturing areas. Safety toed shoes or boots (ASTM 2413-11 standard) are required in specific manufacturing areas.
