The Opportunity

The Platform Solutions Engineering team is looking for a seasoned Cloud Native Solutions Architect to lead the development of our Cloud Native Solutions. The ideal candidate will be an expert in data center architectures and Cloud Native technologies. A successful candidate will be a visionary who is adept at executing on their vision by developing robust reference architectures and validated designs that develop Hybrid Cloud solutions for running business critical applications at scale. You will be able to evangelize the benefits of adopting Cloud Native architectures as well as champion the best practices that lead to successful outcomes for our customers.

Your role

As a key member of our architecture group, you will be responsible for developing the scope and strategy of our Cloud Native solution for both private cloud and hybrid cloud use cases. You will work with our product engineering teams and other Solutions Architects to develop best practices for Nutanix products as well as 3 rd party partner products (i.e Openshift, Rancher, etc.) You will lead the validation effort, working with our test automation team in our state-of-the-art labs. You will be responsible for publishing Nutanix Validate Solutions that customers will implement with confidence. You will work with automation engineers to automate testing and provisioning of an end-to-end solution delivered to Nutanix customers.

+ Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customer base to learn how they build and migrate hybrid cloud solutions that run at scale using AWS, Azure, Openshift, and Nutanix Karbon.

+ Educate customers on the value proposition of hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, and cloud-native modalities and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for resilience at scale.

+ Act as a technical liaison between product engineering, marketing, customers, delivery teams and support to foster collaboration and communication about how our products need to integrate to meet the needs of our customers.

+ Partner with Professional Services and Sales leaders to promote Cloud Native concepts internally and influence how these organizations train delivery consultants and sales teams to be successful selling and delivering Cloud Native outcomes.

What You'll Bring

+ Experience architecting, designing, and building microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.

+ Deep knowledge of Openshift (other container orchestration tools also highly desirable)

+ Understanding of the core use cases for security, networking, resilience, observability, and multi-tenancy as they pertain to microservices architectures and service meshes.

+ Experience helping development teams build and deploy Kubernetes microservices based applications via both on premise private cloud environments as well as hybrid cloud environments.

+ Be a self-starter with an in-depth hands-on work experience with large-scale implementations of AWS and/or Azure.

+ Knowledge of python, J2EE, .NET, and cloud technologies development languages and tools.

Preferred:

+ 10+ years overall experience- 5+ years architecting and designing solutions for private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions including AWS and/or Microsoft Azure infrastructure and 3+ years architecting, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes based solutions running on-prem or in the cloud.

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree(s) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.

+ AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification or Azure/GCP equivalent.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $140,800 and $282,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
