Lighthouse Lab Services is the leading provider of laboratory personnel. Currently, we are working with a laboratory near Trumbull, CT and we are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our laboratory located near Trumbull alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift) Wednesday to Sunday

Job Responsibilities:

1. Must follow all laboratory policies and procedures pertaining laboratory safety, testing procedures/standard operating protocols (SOPs), quality control (QC), proficiency testing (PT), and quality assessment program (QA).

2. Responsible for specimen processing for specimen validity, screening, and confirmation.

3. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

4. Perform instrument maintenance for LC-MS/MS, automated analyzers (daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and as needed), calibration and QC, review calibration and QC and troubleshoot for any issues, communicate with immediate management for issues beyond the capacity in a timely manner, maintain corrective action logs, and keep all records up to date.

5. Prepare necessary solutions for LC-MS/MS confirmation testing (internal standards, standards, QC materials, buffers etc.)

6. Prepare batch files, load specimens to the instrument, perform patient specimen testing, PT samples, monitoring instrument conditions and store specimens per the SOPs.

7. Review confirmation data in a timely manner for all test order menus.

8. Review and release clinical lab reports.

9. Immediately notify the lab management if unable to correct problems that will affect patient results, e.g., instrument issues, QC issues etc.

10. Participate in monthly, weekly, and daily QA and QC programs while maintaining updated documents.

11. Participate in appropriate continuing education (CE) programs and consult current technical literature to keep abreast of changes in the field.

12. Assist in maintaining reagents and supply inventories. Maintain an up-to-date electronic inventory supply list.

13. Document all corrective actions taken in pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical.

14. Promote good public relations through productive and professional interaction with other staff.

15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the lab management. E.g., QA and quality review.

Job Requirements:

1. Earned PhD in laboratory science, 1+ years of clinical lab or equivalent lab experience.

2. Earned Master's in laboratory science, 3+ years of high complexity clinical lab experience or equivalent lab experience is desired.

3. Earned Bachelor's, or associate degree in laboratory science, 5+ years of high complexity clinical lab experience or equivalent lab experience.

*All earned degrees must be verified and required academic transcripts*

4. Minimum 1 year experience on LC-MS/MS instrument operation, maintenance, and data review in a clinical lab setting or equivalent is required.

5. Preferred experience with High complexity Clinical lab experience in the areas of Molecular/Microbiology/Toxicology/Hematology/ Chemistry

6. Preferred but not required, ASCP (MT, MLS)
