Case Manager Supervisor

Location (Washington, DC) • Program (La Casa)

Summary:

La Casa is a 40-unit Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) building for previously chronically homeless male identifying individuals located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. The program’s highly vulnerable residents receive comprehensive on-site case management, supportive services, and 24 hour staffing. Services at La Casa are tailored to the unique needs of each participant. La Casa’s approach is based on the principles of Housing First, an evidence-based housing model that considers housing the first priority—especially for those who are also facing other barriers. This model emphasizes stabilizing housing immediately, so that other needs can be successfully met. The Case Manager Supervisor will assist participants in identifying and achieving goals that will allow them to identify and address barriers that impact housing stability. The role will support the La Casa Division Director and supervise program Case Managers.


Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Division Director, provide overall supervision, instructive mentorship, coaching and guidance to program staff
  • Provide direct day to day supervision of Case Managers
  • Operating from an equity framework, ensure trauma-informed best practices and participant centeredness are being utilized by Case Managers and Residential Advocate staff
  • Ensure an effective collaborate with external agencies providing services to participants, including community agencies, government agencies, etc
  • Participate in multidisciplinary and contract meetings (TCP & DHS monthly provider meetings, monthly 1-1 monitoring meetings, etc.)
  • Ensure ethical service delivery while managing the integrity and timeliness of all documentation including participant interactions, biopsychosocials, service plans, UIRs and other clinical documentation in HMIS and OTCO
  • Model and manage organizational and program compliance as outlined by Friendship Place, DHS, TCP and professional licensing boards.
  • Demonstrate empathy and flexibility in responding to participants’ needs and requests.
  • Ensure services are accessible and offered to participants as needed by public, private, or community partners (physical health care, mental health care, substance abuse/recovery services, education/life skills, legal services)
  • Participate in management meetings and contribute to team trainings, retreats, and etc.
  • Lead individual and group clinical supervision sessions
  • Support administrative program management responsibilities for the team, including monthly and quarterly reports, program evaluation, and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Conduct intakes and assessments to determine participants strengths, barriers and acuity.
  • Determine and manage case load assignments
  • Serve as the clinical lead facilitating onsite crisis support and safety planning while submitting timely referrals to needed external crisis service providers (DBH/Mobile Crisis, Adult Protective Services, MPD/Crisis Intervention Officer, etc).
  • Collaborate professionally with external agencies and supportive networks providing services to participants within the restraints of HIPPA to further the goals identified by the families.
  • Support monthly billing and invoicing
  • Manage a small caseload, if needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Background & Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work or counseling
  • DC licensure required (LGSW, LPC, LCPC, LICSW) or license eligible strongly preferred
  • Four (4) years of professional experience providing counseling and/or case management services to individuals experiencing homelessness or other related populations
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical supervisory experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Understanding and/or experience working with families experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and trauma
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma and intersectionality
  • Understanding of the Housing First Model and Harm Reduction
  • Strong written, verbal, clinical, and crisis management skills. Ability to work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to mission, and organizational core values, including racial equity and social justice
  • Ability to provide after-hours on-call crisis support as needed

Background Checks:

The selected candidate must pass a criminal history background check and fingerprinting, including FBI and MPD. Upon offer and acceptance, applicants must complete a drug and alcohol screen.

Specific Requirements:

Must have own transportation to carry out job duties and responsibilities. The vehicle must meet legal requirements (insured, registered, etc.). The employee must have a valid driver's license.


Other Details:

  • Application Deadline: This job is open until filled or the hiring manager determines that they can no longer accept applications.
  • Compensation: The hiring pay range is between $69,325 - $75,654 or $78,624 - $85,859 annually, depending upon experience and licensure. Depending on the position, the starting hourly pay rate or annual salary is based on a step system. A candidate’6s starting pay determination is made based on meeting the basic position requirements and current completed education, credentials, and/or work experience. Please Note: The step system is set and not open to pay negotiation. Before proceeding with the selection process, interested applicants are encouraged to discuss starting pay eligibility with the Human Resources (Talent) Department.
