The Clinical Administrative Coordinator takes will be responsible for managing administrative intake of members, work with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers.  Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles.  Assist the clinical staff with administrative task and member/provider correspondence.  Handle outbound/inbound for resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm (Eastern Standard Time). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. (Optional: After completed training - a compressed work schedule of 4 days/10hrs shift). This is a remote position however, you may be required to come into the office for mandatory meetings at the office location of 9100 Shelbyville Road Suite 270 Louisville, KY 40222.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Ensures all potential member needs are identified and processed to Care Coordinator appropriately for risk validation when applicable
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Assist the clinical staff with administrative task and member/provider correspondence
  • Perform outbound calls to ensure services availability for members.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Must reside in Louisville or Lexington, Kentucky due to contract requirements
  • 1 years of professional experience in an office / customer service setting
  • Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send spreadsheets) and Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to open, edit, save, and send documents)
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Lexington and Louisville, KY
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree (or higher)
  • Experience working in a Clerical or Administrative role
  • Experience working in Healthcare or Medical Insurance
  • Experience working with Hospital, Physician or Medical Clinical settings
  • Medical Terminology experience
  • Medicaid experience

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Work independently and a team-player
  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive
  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse
