Curtin Maritime is coming to the Dredging market in a big way, so we are currently searching for an experienced Clamshell Dredge Crane Operators to support current and future dredging projects.

What You Will Do:

Safely operate a dredge clamshell crane at various dredge work sites across the country.

Mental Aptitudes Required:

• Attention to detail

Physical Aptitudes Required:

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling ad operating heavy equipment and objects.
• Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently.
• Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.
• Must be able to keep balance/equilibrium while performing duties at various heights.
• Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.
• Adequate hearing & vision ability.
• Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.
• Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.
• Must be able to swim.

You must have the following required qualifications:

• Crane Operator I:
  • NCCCO License with LBC, TLL Endorsements
  • Physical & Drug Test
  • Qualified Rigger
  • Certification School
  • Conventional crane operating Experience

• Crane OperatorII:
  • All requirements for Crane Operator I
  • Must have experience with clamshell dredge
  • Qualified open oceans barge experience
  • Must possess working knowledge of crane systems
  • Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on crane systems

• Crane Operator III:
  • All requirements for Crane Operator I and II
  • NCCCO Endorsement. Preferred: LBT LBC, TSS, TLL, BTF, STC
  • Develop and implement critical lift plans
  • Must display leadership skills and be able to direct work on deck of the barge
  • Must be able to complete barge logs, monthly crane inspection reports
  • Responsible for completionof all maintenance and repairs of crane

All levels must have/pass:

• Physical & DOT Drug Test
• Respiratory Fit Test
• TWIC Card
• Participation in random drug testing program

It would be nice for you to currently have:

• Merchant Mariner Credentials
• NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) with LBC and TLL Endorsements or NCCER with equivalent endorsements
• Excavator experience a plus
