We are currently looking for a Claims Specialist - Transportation & Logistics to be based in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, or New York.

The Impact You Will Have Handle medium to complex marine claims across multiple jurisdictions including establishing case strategy, appointment & management of claim investigators/experts/coverage counsel and setting of case reserves.Drive third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers. Assist with training and development of team members and act as a technical referral point for other Claims Handlers.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems
  • Proactively review late/non payment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts
  • Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends
  • Investigate standard claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures
  • Negotiate to ensure efficient and competitive settlement
  • Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines
  • Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business(including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
  • Positively represent AGCS externally to the market.Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process (e.g. underwriting, MMC, ARC, operations).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with key brokers and clients and other relative stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).
What You'll Bring to the Role
  • 5-7 years experience in proven track record in Claims handling.Understanding of LoB products and portfolio with some technical specialists knowledge, including management of systems (e.g. Genius).
  • 5-7 years experience in understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape
  • 3-5 year experience in demonstrated relationship building with brokers at peer level
  • 3-5 years experience in understanding of legal and regulatory framework
  • 3-5 years experience in working in complex, global matrix organization
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably a degree in Economics, Law or other appropriate discipline
  • Progress towards professional insurance qualifications (e.g. CII)
The annualized base pay range for this role is $92,591 to $191,745. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package.As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
