Civil/Structural Substation Engineer

b19 Consulting is working with an established Power Delivery Consultancy to find a Civil/Structural Substation Engineer that comes from an electric utility background.

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years utility substation design experience
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel & Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of Substation Engineering experience
• PE License or working towards
• Expertise with structural analysis and design of steel & concrete substation structures
• Expertise with LPILE, STAAD, RISA software
• Knowledge of ACI and AISC standards
• Design expertise for substation equipment foundations
• Rigid bus design and calculations
• QA/QC peer review of other staff designs
• Mat foundation design expertise for transformers
• Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project.
