Public Service Loan Forgiveness Job Summary This is a short-term benefits-eligible full-time one-semester-only teaching opportunity for spring 2023. The CIS programming, web and our general CIS courses Faculty position is within the Computer Information Systems Department at MCC. The position encompasses instructing a diverse (age, gender, ethnicity, technical experience, etc.) range of students in Computers Information Systems (CIS).

Teaching modality may include face-to-face, hybrid, live online, and/or online format. The courses taught encompass teaching technology concepts, application, and/or both. Duties also include student advising, promotion of dual enrollment with high-schools, assisting adjuncts, and participation in departmental meetings and functions.

Participate in at least one college committee. Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties. Essential Functions Instructs a diverse population of students in classroom and lab settings Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter and prepares and grades exams; maintains academic support hours to assist and advise students Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops Classroom and/or laboratory instructions using face-to-face, hybrid and/or online classes at the college level Curriculum development and updating CIS courses; textbook and teaching materials selection Mentoring students through advisement, lab support, tutoring, and holding regular academic support hours Build and maintain dual-enrollment with area high schools Assist adjunct instructors, participate in departmental meetings and functions Participate in at least one college committee Minimum Qualifications For occupational disciplines, a combination of education and/or experience is required to qualify.

A faculty may qualify with any of the following: Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree OR A Master's degree in the teaching field OR A Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR A Master's degree in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field Upper division courses are Junior and Senior level courses in obtaining a Bachelors' degree. OR A Journeyman certification in the field to be taught. EDU 250 - Teaching and Learning in the Community College or equivalent must be completed within two years of the date of hire Desired Qualifications A.

Demonstrated experience teaching multiple CIS areas (i.e. programming, web, general CIS courses) B. Demonstrated teaching experience in web or a programming language C.

Demonstrated teaching experience in Microsoft Office Suite, emerging technologies, computer terminology, concepts and applying it in business and society D. Demonstrated course content development experience to include open educational resources and curriculum development F. Experience teaching face-to-face, online, hybrid, hybrid/flex, and live-online Special Working Conditions Mesa Community College does not provide Visa sponsorship.

If hired into a One-semester-only (OSO) position and not continuing in a benefits-eligible position, then there will be a 6 month waiting period before being eligible to work in a non-benefited position at the Maricopa Community Colleges.
